The Health Care Debate Just Got Personal.
In January, my bearded companion was laid off, and thus lost his health care coverage. He is self-employed now, and like a responsible adult, applied to pay out of pocket for coverage through Regence. Today he got a letter from them, which said that they would not sell him health insurance because his family has “a history of anxiety.”
There is something wrong, people.
Whose family does not have a “history of anxiety?” That’s on par with rejecting people because they don’t “floss every day,” or they occasionally get “the sniffles.” When healthy people try to buy their own health insurance and are denied for reasons like this, your system is broken.
That’s all.
